Providing You With Compassionate Acceptance

Pregnancy Testing

If you think you may be pregnant, we encourage you to call and make an appointment or walk-in. The Pregnancy Care Center of Rockford offers free and confidential, lab quality pregnancy tests just like the ones you’d get in a doctor’s office or hospital. Home pregnancy tests are usually very accurate, but not always. Your health, as well as your baby’s health, is very important.

If your test with us is positive, we can talk about scheduling an ultrasound to see if you have a viable pregnancy and for you to learn exactly how far along you are. These are the first important steps you’ll need to begin considering your options for your best possible future.

Ultrasound

The Pregnancy Care Center provides free ultrasounds by trained, licensed RNs to verify pregnancy and determine how far along you are. If you already know you’re pregnant and are under a doctor’s care, then we can offer you many other supportive services, but no further medical care. We do not perform ultrasounds for the purpose of discovering the sex of the baby.

STD Testing

The Pregnancy Care Center offers limited STD testing by our RN’s or trained mentors. Currently, we test for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia and typically, results come back within a week. If you are already coming in for a pregnancy test, this is a service we can offer to you at the same time.

Mentoring

Our professional, trained staff and volunteer mentors will listen to your concerns and answer your questions. Our goal is to provide you with compassionate acceptance, dignity and respect, grace-filled truthfulness and hopeful encouragement. We want every person who walks through our doors to be informed, to be empowered and to be stronger for having been here. Many of our staff and volunteers have experienced an unplanned pregnancy themselves or have walked alongside someone close to them who has. Every one of them had someone reach out in their time of need. Others reached out to us in our time of need. Now we want to reach out and be there for you in your time of need.

Case Management

If, in addition to unplanned pregnancy, you are experiencing homelessness, an unsafe living situation, sexual assault, unemployment, need for education, substance abuse, mental health issues, unresolved legal issues, or trouble meeting basic needs, we have a full-time case manager that can help you access the tools you need, set goals, and create a different future for you and your family.

Educational Classes

The Pregnancy Care Center offers educational classes with experienced facilitators on everything from prenatal care and childbirth to breastfeeding, newborn care, parenting, relationships and spiritual health. Classes taught by moms “for moms only” and by dads “for dads only” prepare those expecting to be the best parents they can be. By attending classes, participants earn resources from our fully stocked baby boutique.

Community Referrals

The Pregnancy Care Center partners with many community agencies and organizations to help meet the holistic needs of our clients. A few of the organizations with whom we partner are Rockford Rescue Mission, The Haven Network, Remedies Renewing Lives, Rockford Alliance Against Sexual Exploitation, Rockford Sexual Assault Counseling, Safe Families For Children, and many more! If you need a referral, call our center or stop in to talk with our staff.

Post-Abortion Care

The Pregnancy Care Center provides support to women or men who have experienced abortion at some time in their lives. Our Post Abortion Care for women is one on one with a woman, and for men, it is one on one with another man. Appointments are completely confidential and free of charge. Please call, email, or stop in to talk to our staff to learn more about what Post Abortion Care looks like for you or someone you love.
