After retiring from Rockford Memorial Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Wymetta started volunteering as an ultrasound nurse in June 2015. Having spent 22 years helping save premature and sick babies, she realized how much the miracle of life “tugged” at her heart. She came on staff as a part-time center nurse in May of 2016. Serving 11 years as a missionary nurse in Liberia, West Africa, and Papua New Guinea gave her a passion for sharing the love of Christ with those around her and using her medical skills to serve them. She has been married to her husband, Andy, for 24 years, and he also volunteers as a male mentor at The Pregnancy Care Center. They are active in Gideons International and their church. They enjoy traveling with their RV and learning from any experience. Despite not having children of her own, Wymetta feels she has children all over the world. She and Andy have one furry baby, “Cutler.” In her spare time, she likes to read and garden.
